Jack Frost Nipping at Your Nose

We had a great visit in Idaho Falls for the past couple of days for Christmas.
It was so great to see everyone, and we missed those who couldn't be there!

Saturday Morning brought some really cold weather, but also some really cool frost on all the trees.
I got some pictures of trees in Grandma and Grandpa Miller's front yard.
Enjoy!

That's Really Super, Supergirl

When they went on sale at ThinkGeek.com, I decided I had to pick up a set of blank make-your-own action figures (sadly, they are no longer available, though you might be able to find them elsewhere).
I got one for each of us, and so we each created our own super hero.  I cut and stained some wood I had lying around and got some brass bar from Lowe's to make bases to mount them on, for display.

Here are the action figures in their packaging, ready to be made into whatever you want:

And here is our completed super hero team, ready to save the world:

My hero has electronic/computer based superpowers - I imagine him being able to shoot electricity from his hands, and travel at near the speed of light through electrical circuits. Ashlee came up with a really great name for him, but then we both forgot what it was! I'm sure we'll remember eventually:

Christine's super heroine doesn't have super powers, but rather she is a fighter/spy/agent in the style of Black Widow, with special military training, and weapons we cannibalized from some cheap army men toys I found at Albertson's:

Teri's super heroine has the power of invisibility, represented by being painted with blue sparkly nail polish. She's also the only one of us who decided to go with a cape.  I love her super sparkly hair:

Ashlee's super heroine has a shiny purple outfit with really awesome looking yellow trim.  Her face has purple lighting bolts running over the skin, representing super energy running through her body which she can fire in bolts from the palms of her hands:
